Intimacy & Connection
Feel Closer to Those That Matter Most
You can have people who love you and still feel alone. Maybe your relationships are good on paper, but something feels missing. You want to feel more understood, more emotionally connected, or more able to let the people closest to you really know you.
Intimacy isn't simply about spending more time together. It requires allowing yourself to be known.
What Gets In the Way of Closeness?
We all develop ways of protecting ourselves in relationships. You may withdraw when things become emotional, avoid asking for what you need, keep parts of yourself hidden, or focus so much on caring for others that you lose touch with yourself.
These patterns can protect you from rejection, disappointment, or conflict—but they can also create the very distance you don't want.
My relational psychodynamic approach helps us understand what happens when you get close to another person and what may be keeping you from experiencing the connection you want.
Building Deeper Relationships
Our work isn't about becoming more vulnerable for vulnerability's sake. It's about developing the capacity to be more fully yourself in the presence of another person.
Together, we'll work toward expressing what you feel and need, tolerating the uncertainty that comes with closeness, and allowing yourself to be seen without abandoning who you are.
The goal is not simply to have more relationships. It's to experience the relationships you already have—and the ones you build in the future—with greater intimacy, honesty, and connection.
