I’m Adam Piddington, LMHCA, a therapist in downtown Seattle specializing in work with high-functioning adults and couples navigating relationship challenges. I help clients dealing with relationship anxiety, relational trauma, and family-of-origin issues better understand the patterns that keep them feeling stuck or disconnected.

My approach is grounded in relational psychodynamic therapy and attachment work. I focus on how early relationships shape the ways we protect ourselves—often through defense mechanisms that can interfere with closeness. In our work together, we explore these patterns both in your life and in the moment, using the therapeutic relationship as a way to access and shift underlying, often unconscious dynamics.

Before becoming a therapist, I was a musician who wrote and toured. That experience deepened my understanding of how important it is to feel seen and heard—something that continues to guide my work today.

Now, I’m a husband and a father, who loves hiking and watching movies with my family. Like you, I know what it’s like to feel the weight of responsibility, and the duty to keep going. Therapy has helped me understand that I don’t have to do it all myself, and I want to help you.
