An Introduction

I'm Adam , a relational psychodynamic therapist in Seattle. I work with individuals and couples who feel successful on the outside but disconnected, anxious, or alone in their relationships. My practice is built around the belief that lasting change doesn't come from simply learning new skills—it comes from understanding the patterns that have shaped you and experiencing something different in relationship.

Experience

I’m a fully licensed therapist with a master’s degree in counseling, specializing in relational psychodynamic therapy with individuals and couples. My work is informed by ongoing training in psychoanalytic and relational approaches, along with training in the Gottman Method for couples therapy.

I’ve also spent much of my adult life in a long-term partnership—17 years with my wife—and am a father, experiences that have given me a firsthand understanding of how relationships, identity, and family life evolve over time. I bring this perspective together with depth-oriented clinical training to help people develop stronger relationships, greater self-understanding, and more meaningful connection.

What’s Different?

My work pays attention to both your past and what is happening between us in the present. Together, we'll explore the ways you've learned to protect yourself, the relationships that shaped you, and the unconscious patterns that continue to influence your life. As those patterns become clearer, you'll have more freedom to respond differently—to yourself and to the people who matter most.

How it works?

I believe therapy is more than a place to talk about your life. It becomes a relationship where you can experience being understood without judgment, express yourself more authentically, and discover new ways of relating. Change happens through both insight and experience. As curiosity replaces self-criticism and authenticity replaces performance, the way you relate to yourself and others begins to change naturally.

My strategy

Whether you're seeking therapy for anxiety, loneliness, relationship challenges, burnout, or a desire to feel more fully alive, my goal is to create a space where you don't have to hide parts of yourself. Together, we'll work toward deeper relationships, a stronger sense of self, and a fuller life.
